You can select what service to use to shorten long URLs in the app settings. Tap the 4 squares in the upper left from the timeline view then the gear icon in the upper right on the next screen and tap "Services" on the Settings screen. You can select from Twitter, bit.ly, tinyurl.com, is.gd, linkyy, and po.st.
