Tweetcaster problem by sign in on Android 4.0.3

I've Tweetcaster on SG s2 (Androis 4.0.4) and it's working fine there but on a tablet with Android 4.0.3 I can't sign in. Tried with 3 accounts, watched spelling carefully and also tried to change the "date & time" suggestion mentioned in this article:

!Tweetcaster authentication issues on Android 4.0.3" http://bit.ly/UdjwY5

... didn't work. Do you've any other solution?

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for the post. The login process occurs through Twitter's API. If your date and time settings are all correct we would suggest to uninstall and re-install TweetCaster, which you may have to do a few times, as this will reset the initial connection to Twitter's API. If the issue persists, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I already uninstalled Tweetcaster once and the problem is still there. Will try to restart the tablet and uninstall it again.

I'll comment tomorrow what happened, no time currently.

Just to share how I solved the Tweetcaster signing in problem:

  • just be sure to use the android's default input / keyboard while typing your username and password.

After you can switch back to whatever keyboard you wish.

All suggestions didn't work for me. I could log into accounts where the password didn't have special chars. My main account has. But finally I could log in when I used LastPass, my password manager.

Have attempted several time to use tweetcaster on my Galaxy.  Installed/uninstalled...when I click the "sign in" I get an error in attempt to connect with twitter and it refused to open the login.

Khar,

Can you please verify that your date/time info is accurate?

(Device's Settings --> Date & Time)

Please verify that the manually entered time zone is correct; if it is not, uncheck the auto time zone, adjust to the timezone, and re-check the 'auto time zone' option. Please go back to Device's Settings Menu --> Application Manager --> TweetCaster --> Clear Data

Then delete/re-install the application. (This will re-initialize the connection with Twitter's API).

Are you getting a message "you are being redirected"?

It's appears that Twitter are experiencing issues with their login process.

The login is actually handled completely by Twitter - you tap login, and you are then taken to a Twitter page, enter your login and password, and they should then log you in and hand you back, already logged in. The error Twitter are experiencing appears to be causing the login to either not respond or the "you are being redirected" message appears.

This same exact issue happened a couple of weeks ago.

Unfortunately, since this is an issue with the login Twitter provides for third-party developers such as us to use and not an issue with the TweetCaster app itself, we will need to wait for a fix from Twitter. Once they fix things on their end, it should resume normally functionality without any other action required.
