1weather widget not updating

I have the app and widget set to 30 minute updates.  I have the widget on my main home screen and it doesn't ever change.  I added it last night and when I got up this morning it still had yesterday's date and information on it.  The only way I've found to get the widget to update is to tap it, open the app and then exit.  Any suggestions?

I'm not sure I fully understand the problem you are describing, Serdar.  Could you provide a little more information?

2.7 and this problem still exists.

The adverts get updated regularly though!

Guess that's the main thing.

I absolutely love the app, but it will not update using the 30 minute refresh. I have to manually refresh it or set it to refresh upon opening the app. The problem is that the widget never has correct information because it doesn't update. I've always had this problem (well over a year). My phone is an LG Optimus L9.

Hi,

If you think you are having a widget update issue, please go into the app and select contact support from the menu and either copy and paste the log data that will be in the email here or send it as an email (it will go into our support queue).  That will tell us a lot of pertinent info for troubleshooting.

In some cases, the humidity data will not be available from a particular reporting station or it will be temporarily unavailable. In those cases, it will not be displayed. This is usually temporary.

Hi Eric,

After seeing so many people having problems with the widget, I must say it looks like there's definately something wrong with the widget....

Personally I have the same problem with the widget. It's set to update every 4 hours, but it just doesn't eventhough there's a constant internet/wifi connection. The only way to update the widget is to tab on it so the app updates itself (and therfore the widget itself gets updated).

Just for a test I activated the "current conditions' notification in the statusbar to see if this has something to do with it. But even if that's a solution, the widget/app should also refresh whitout the notification in the statusbar.

I've taken a look at the log file and there it says:

Network: false (well there is a wifi network active)

Also it says several times "autupdates fired but skipped"

I'm on a rooted LG G2 running KitKat and a Cloudy G3 rom (basically the G3 software running on a G2 phone).

The Network reading there is letting us know whether cell towers are available GeoLocation and doesn't play into the app updates.

"autoupdate fired but was skipped" can be due to bad signal, the app being manually updated within the last 15 minutes, or the battery being below 20% and not charging.   The autoupdates firing but skipping the refresh could be a possible area where we have issues with auto-updates, although we have had other reports where the updates don’t skip the refresh and the notification/widgets still don’t get updated.

Widgets spontaneously ceasing to update is also a known OS issue on some 4.xdevices. There is an open Google bug on this here:

https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=28216

We aren’t certain if this is the sole cause of the issue, and our development team continue to investigate, but it definitely may play a part. By clicking the star button on the Google page, you are notifying Google of your interest in this bug and will be notified of updates to it. Please help us to raise awareness of this issue by doing so.
