Tweetcaster for Android v5.5 slow

Hello,

Upgraded Tweetcaster for Android from version 5.3 to 5.5 on a Motorola Droid (original) and noticed it was very slow to display tweet timeline when first opened or when switching from one twitter account to another (there are two accounts configured). Uninstalled 5.5, re-installed v5.3 and the app is back to displaying the tweet timeline very fast.

Hello Tristan,

Thank you for the post. I have notified project management on this issue for further investigation. At this time, it has been reported that no enhancements, in regards to performance, were changed, but some new features from 5.3 to 5.5 could have caused a delay in updating your timeline. That is what is currently being investigated. We will have another update for Tweetcaster here soon. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further questions or issues, please let us know.

Thanks,

Hi,

Just FYI, i was searching around looking to see if this was an issue.  On my Nexus S (T-mobile), i've been getting a lot of the Tweetcaster is not responding, wait or close dialog box.  also, to go from one screen to another can take as much as 8 seconds.  it's a new issue for me, i'm guessing also when it last upgraded.

just wanted to let you know that the problem doesn't seem to be isolated to one person.

thanks

Another FYI; I'm having the same issues (slow response time, not responding, force close dialogs) since the last update on my Samsung Galaxy S II. I especially notice it when following a link away from Tweetcaster, and I then go 'back'. This causes the screen and controls to freeze for a number of seconds (5-10 at a guess), and then sometimes 'not respond'.

So I don't think it's limited to one person or device.

Many thanks,

Chris

Getting the same with 5.8 on a Defy with Froyo. Also errors when sending, which always solves when Try Again is pressed

Update. In an attempt to work out if this and other lagging & freezing was purely related to Tweetcaster and/or Friendcaster, I uninstalled them both from my Defy, and installed alternate Twitter Facebook clients.

All lagging or freezing on my phone have now totally vanished. Shame really as they are both nice apps, but currently unusable. On Defy at least.

Hello again, original poster has returned.
I have new Droid 4, running Tweetcaster v5.9 and the same behavior is seen, namely slow response when either opening a timeline for first time or switching from one timeline to another. Uninstalled v5.9, installed v5.3 and the speed increase is incedible, there is virtually no delay at all. The only settings changed after install of either version is dark theme, large font, no notifications, no background updates. 1Louder - any update to this? Thanks.

Tried v6.0 on Droid 4, still slower than v5.3.  v6.0 works, but the difference in speed from v5.3 is noticeable. Recent Tweetcaster version announcements have not mentioned Bug Fixes, just new features.  No update from 1Louder.

I'm having this problem with Tweetcaster 6.1 as well. Any time I go to a different screen than the main one (settings, profile selection, new Tweet...) and back (or whenever I do searches), the program becomes unresponsive for so long that I basically need to Force Close and reload in order to do anything again (unless it's searches, then I need to wait minutes for the application to finally become responsive. I'm a T-Mobile G2 running CM7.1 Stable, so phone performance should not be a problem.

Tweetcaster Slow. When I go from timeline to generate a tweet it takes 7-15 seconds to actually open the tweet window. I am running the newest version on an HTC EVO. Please fix it.
