I'm using friendcaster pro on my Verizon HTC Thunderbolt.  Overall, I really like it over the other fb app, but about ready to uninstall it because it keeps giving  me notification that I have two new messages and when I open the app or go to FB, there are no new messages.  How can I resolve this, or is it a known bug that is being worked out?

Have you tried uninstalling the app and then reinstalling?  It sounds like for whatever reason FriendCaster hasn't been able to clear those notifications and they keep showing back up.  If they don't appear on Facebook any longer as new, when you delete and reinstall and re-establish the connection with Facebook, there theoretically shouldn't be any new notifications to show up in FriendCaster and the problem should go away.

I've been using tweetcaster on my HTC Evo, and I absolutely love this app.  The only problem I've had is with uploading pictures to my tweets.  It gets as far as saying "uploading image" but it never actually loads and ends up saving my tweet as a draft.  I was wondering how I could fix this? Thanks!

Why no following conversation support for this app? Does Twitter hate Android OS?  The app runs a lot better on the iOS platform. On Android, it's just awful. And it;s just not this twitter app but every twitter app that runs on Android.

@Charlotte G: Were you encountering the posting a pic issue when posting from your phone's gallery, taking a picture and then uploading, or both? Did you uninstall and then re-install Please also let us know the version of TweetCaster you are using so we can further test if needed (Menu > More > About). 

 

@Macky: What errors or issues were you encountering with TweetCaster via Android?

This is a great app. Just quite confusing. Can you upload your own videos and pictures or can we only use them from the available sources

Hey Connor,

Thanks for the post. Are you encountering these issues with FriendCaster or TweetCaster in regards to uploading videos and pictures? Also, What is your model of cell phone/tablet you are using?

Connor,

You can upload your own videos and pictures to TweetCaster. Were you encountering issues or errors when trying to do this through TweetCaster?

I'm trying to leave feedback on the beta for channelcaster but there is no options for me to do that in that forum discussion. I do see feedback from other members however. What can or should I do?

First off, I like the app alot. I noticed if while your creating a channel if my phone goes into panorama view it deletes all the data I am creating, so I had to start all over. I also think the search engine used needs to be tweeked. Of the channels I created I know there are alot more sources available. The sources I'm speaking of would also better match my channels than what was found. This is speaking overall however, I did get some good sources regardless, I'm just left wanting a little more. Other than that this app is excellent, especially for a beta. I've tried all kinds of things and works perfect ty. FYI- I'm using a Droid Inc rooted running latest miui. Ty again

@Mike, I'll pass your comments on to the team.  I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to post over there.  If you're able to post here, that forum should work for you as well.  What happens when you try to post over there?

Great app but I'm confused about notifications.  When the client is not running, but I have background notifications turned on, I do receive notifications but they are sometimes delayed by as much as 15 minutes, the refresh rate is set to 2 minutes.  Also, when I do have the client running I don't always hear the notification sound, even though there is one set up in the configuration.  What determines when the sound is played?

@Eric h. in this forum section I have a add comment box...over on the beta for channelcaster there is no such option unless I go into someone else's post....I do not have an option to post or start a new post or conversation.....ty again

@mike, are you on your mobile device, or on a desktop computer?  If you are on your phone, do you see a "Classic" option?  That should show the full web version of the site.  The mobile version allows you to comment, but doesn't have the provision for starting a new topic currently.

Ok so i figured how to upload to tweetcaster but i cant get my uploads from my tweetcaster onto my channel

Since update to FriendCaster 3.20 I do not get the notifications any more. When I run the app and refresh it, I can see that there are eg some wall posts and messages.

I use the periodic check, set to 1 hour, but no more notifications show up. Had no issues with the previous version of FriendCaster. I'm using a Nexus S with 2.3.4. Is this a known bug in the latest version? Any further information would be appreciated.

@Michael, the latest version's main goal was to improve notifications and add more options.  Have you tried deleting and reinstalling and then resetting your notification options to see if that helps?

@Eric: Yes, I deinstalled & installed the app twice, checked the settings (but there's nothing you can do wrong actually), tested different times for the periodic check (1 hour, 2 hours, 30 mins)... nothing. No notification showing up. Now I went back to version 3.11.0.3 and notifications work again like a charm.

@Michael I'll forward your comments and device info to the development team so they can investigate.  There are ongoing improvements to notifications, so hopefully they can get this cleared up!

Hello, I have problem with uploading photos to my FB account with the latest version of FriendCaster. I have Samsung Galaxy S, which makes nice sharp photos, but after sharing them on my wall they look like scanned on some crappy scanner, here's a sample: http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/294071_2083185393375_1057309692_31994749_3210851_n.jpg Notice those horizontal lines, which are missing at original photo.

Tomáš, can you let us know what quality setting you were using?  On the upload screen there's a dropdown for selecting "quality" and the options are...

Maximum, Very High, High, Medium and Low

Was this image uploaded at Maximum?

I've been using High quality setting and it wasn't enough as I see now. At Maximum this photo seems fine with any glitch. Thx for very fast reply which was very helpful :)

Tomáš, happy to help.  On a photo like this one (very pretty BTW) with big swatches of  color in it, the quality difference will be a lot more noticeable than say a photo of a group of people.  Thanks for using FriendCaster!
