Yes, on the weather widgets you can select the Background opacity and set the background opacity to 0%.
To open widget settings, follow Menu -->Settings -->Widgets. Select the desired widget.
If you'd prefer a partially opaque background, you can select a dark or light background and then adjust the Background Opacity setting to the desired level.
